Text: Psalm 5:12

Shield of Favour consists of two major words: Shield and Favour.

Shield
A shield is important because it guarantees your protection.
Genesis 15:1
If the shield of God is in place for you, you have nothing to fear.

Favor
Favour is an invisible force, you can’t see it but when it is at work, you’ll know.
Favour is getting what you didn’t deserve by divine intervention.

When God Favours a man, it causes people to ask “How are you doing it?”

The biblical example of those who signify Favour:

1) Joseph

• Genesis 37:3-11
  He wasn’t in the position of the first or second, but the Favour of the Lord singled him out for greatness.
• Genesis 37:19-24. Even when he was thrown into the well, the favor of the Lord upon him caused him to be delivered.
• Genesis 39:1-6. Even when he was sold into slavery, the Favour of the Lord caused his master to love and Favour him.

-Genesis 39: 7-23. Even when he was thrown into prison, the shield of favor round about him caused him to be put in charge of the prison.

2) Peter
Luke 5:1-11
When Jesus needed a boat to use, Favour made him choose Peter’s boat.

John 21:15-19. He didn’t need to do anything, he was favored by God.

What must you do to be shielded by Favour?

You must stay away from iniquity.

The enemy cannot touch the one who is in right standing with God.
Genesis 39:7-10, Numbers 23:17-24

As long you are on the right side- the Lord’s side, it doesn’t matter who is fighting against you, YOU WILL WIN!

Psalm 18:35
Salvation is described as a shield in the scriptures.
If you live a righteous life free from sin, the favor of God will shield you from all evil.

Surrender to Jesus today, receive a new life of Christ, and be shielded by favor.
