Going Higher (Part 1) – Pastor E.A Adeboye

Text: 1 Kings 17:1

Examples of those who were insignificant but ended great:

1. Elijah

He went from multiplying the meal of a widow to being the 1st person to raise the dead to bringing a whole nation to its feet.
How you start does not necessarily mean that’s how you will end.
– You may start very insignificant, but end great.
– A single mustard seed can produce a forest of mustard trees. Matthew 13:31-32

2. Isaac
Genesis 25:21-26, 35, 46:27, Exodus 12:37

3. David
1 Samuel 16:1-13, 2 Samuel 5:1-3

He grew to become the father of the King of kings. Mark 10:46-52
Don’t write yourself off.

4. Sarah
Genesis 21:1-7

5. Peter
Luke 5:1-11

Denied Jesus 3 times, went back to fishing, but got reconnected to God and worked mighty miracles.
Acts 3:1-8, 5:14-16, 9:32-42

There is only one prerequisite; your surrender to God must be total.
One meal in God’s hands can become a million.
But you have to surrender first.

A bottle of oil in God’s hands can fill many empty bottles.
5 loaves and 2 fishes can feed thousands provided it is handed over to God.

6. John

Acts 15:37-40, 2 Timothy 4:11

He wrote the Gospel of Mark.

7. Paul
2 Corinthians 11:5

He grew from the lowest level, chief of sinners to the highest level, chiefest apostle.
Remember God’s promise in Isaiah 46:3-4; He is willing to help us beyond.

Prayer Point:
Talk to the Lord and let Him know you are now surrendered to Him completely.
Ask Him to lift you up.
