Day 1: 2024 Holy Ghost Congress
Ministering: Pastor E. A. Adeboye
Text: Psalm 68: 1-5
Praise as a Weapon of Warfare
☆ Life is war, and this war has been there from the beginning.
- War is not a competition. There are only 2 possibilities in war: you win or you lose.
- The winner takes all, and the loser loses all.
- The war began from the beginning. Light and darkness began to war.
Genesis 1: 1-3 - You’ve been fighting a war even from inside the womb. God kept you from the days when you were in the womb. Even in childhood, the enemy was determined to finish you. Mark 10: 13-16
- There is a war, and it’s a constant one that you have been fighting since the day you were conceived.
☆ The Almighty God has been giving you victory, and so He expects you to give Him glory.
Why should you give God praise for what He has done?
☆ Praise is a weapon:
¤ That ensures that the enemy does not bother you again. 1 Samuel 7: 10-13
¤ One battle may come immediately after a victory. If you don’t praise Him for that victory, who will you run to when the next battle comes?
- The children of Israel praised God after He took them across the Red Sea. Exodus 14
- They faced another enemy – thirst – and God was at hand to help them. Exodus 15: 1-21
- The secret of Bartimaeus receiving divine intervention was not how loud he shouted, but something he said that caused Jesus to stand still and arise for Him. He hailed Jesus by calling His Name. Mark 10: 46-52
¤ If you do it correctly, the Almighty God will rise up for you.
- When you praise God the way you should, He will arise.
- When He arises, all your enemies will scatter.
🙏🏽 From now on, when the enemy sees you coming, they will run.
Let us learn the secret of the world champion – David. Psalm 34:1
There was Someone behind David as he fought battles because he was a man of praise.
