Children of Destiny (Victory Hour) – By Pastor Adeboye

Victory Hour – September 2025
Ministering: Pastor E. A. Adeboye
Topic: Children of Destiny
Text: Genesis 12:1–3

In the Old Testament, Isaac is the best classical example of a child of destiny. He was born from a barren womb. (Genesis 21:1–7)

He was already blessed before he was born as a result of God’s promises to Abraham. He inherited Abraham’s blessing. Due to that blessing, he became great. (Genesis 26:12–14)

Lessons to learn from Isaac’s story:

  1. God is never too late. (Genesis 18:9–14)
  2. God can reverse the irreversible. (Ezekiel 37:1–10)
God has the power to make dry bones live.
  3. God can turn sorrow to joy. (Luke 7:11–15)
  4. God can turn defeat into victory.
  5. All you need is a blessing from God.
It will take care of you financially, spiritually, maritally, and more. (Genesis 27:33, Malachi 3:3–10)
  6. Just as Isaac is the seed of Abraham, we are also seeds of Abraham. (Galatians 3:29, 13–14). If Isaac was born from a dead womb, we are born through Someone Who never got married — we are born again through Jesus Christ. While Isaac was born of a barren womb, we are born of the only begotten Son of God.
  7. Isaac means ‘laughter’. The God of Isaac can cause you to laugh last. “I decree in the Name of Jesus, you will laugh last”

The deeper meaning of barrenness is fruitless efforts. “I declare over you, from this morning onwards, no more fruitless efforts”. Your being blessed is settled subject to one condition: that you are born again.

When you are born again, you become a seed of Abraham. Not only are you going to be blessed, but you’ll become a blessing to many.
